Annie’s Story
For 4-year-old Annie, what began as stomach pain, a fever and other unusual symptoms quickly became a nightmare: stage IV Wilms tumor, a rare form of childhood kidney cancer that had also spread to her lungs.
In the midst of fear and uncertainty, Annie’s family found comfort at the Castle of Care. Annie’s journey included chemotherapy, surgery and countless procedures, but she never faced them alone. Child life specialists, nurses and physicians worked together to make her treatment less frightening and to support her entire family along the way.
Thanks to the expertise of her care team and the generosity of donors like you, Annie is now cancer free and looking ahead to a bright future filled with hope.
